GOING TO BUKIT LAWANG

Welcome to the village of Bukit Lawang and Orangutans viewing center on the banks of the beautiful Bahorok river, full of nature challenge and interest to visit, for those people who interest of jungle trekking experience. Because this park keep a lot of endemic flora and fauna.

HOW TO GET TO BUKIT LAWANG

From Kuala Namu (Medan airport) take a Taxi or Car rental, cost Rp. 200.000,-/Taxi or Car to Pinang Baris Bus station in Medan, and from Pinang Baris bus station to Bukit Lawang by PEMB. SEMESTA (medium buses) cost Rp. 30.000,-/passenger, (the cost included your big backpack)Or from Kuala Namu, take a direct Taxi or car rental to Bukit Lawang, cost Rp. 700.000,-/Taxi or Car.

1. take a mini bus (public transport in Medan) to get to Pinang Baris BUS STATION in Medan. And from this bus station take a big or mini bus of PEMB. SEMESTA, this bus go direct to Bukit Lawang.

2. take a Taxi or car rental. You can go direct from the airport to Bukit Lawang.

From Belawan (Medan habour)
1. take a big bus of the public transport to Medan city (if you would like to spend night in Medan city, so you can stay in the hotel of Medan) and from your hotel, take a mini bus to get to Pinang Baris bus station (this bus station still in Medan city) from here you can go directly to Bukit Lawang by public transport.

2. Take a mini bus (public transport) to get to Pinang Baris bus station, and from this station can go direct to Bukit Lawang. take about 4 hours drive.

BUKIT LAWANG VILLAGE (ORANGUTANS COUNTRY)

Bukit Lawang is a village situated right on the banks of the beautiful Bahorok river. One of the famous tourist destination in Sumatera Indonesia. Since the WWF opened the project ORANGUTANS REHABILITATION in 1973, many visitors DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL come from through over the world to see the process to release orangutans in to the free forest life, from the houses where they were kept as pets to quarantine cages, next to feeding flatform untill the last to release them to their originally habitat that is THE GUNUNG LEUSER NATIONAL PARK (GLNP) The tropical rain forest of Sumatera.

BUKIT LAWANG EXCITING JUNGLE ADVENTURE AND RIVER TRIP

While you listen to the birds and other sounds and voices from the animals thereis also a lot of chances to see the wildlife such as; Orangutans, Siamangs, White handed gibbons, Brutal long tail macaque, Pig tail macaque, Honeybears, Wild pig, Snakes, Monitor lizards, Turtles, Hornbills, Great argust pheasant, butterflies and fireflies. In the afternoon you will arrive at the camp site, situated right in the middle of the jungle, on the banks of our beautiful river, where there is a great place for swimming to welcome you. While you enjoy swimming and relaxing, the guide crew will cook dinner for you. Feel free to ask for tea or coffee and a snack while you enjoy relaxing. After you have finished swimming and relaxing, and you feel hungry, we will all have dinner together, and continue to have fun, which will be offered by the guide crew. When you get sleepy, your bed will be ready and waiting for you in the tent. The roaring river and other sounds and voices from the jungle will become melodies during the night to help you sleep and dream well in your new surroundings. I hope to make you feel truly in PARADISE or a GARDEN OF EDEN. On the return trip you can choose to go by jungle trek again or by rafting. Rafting on the clean and wild river full of rapids and bends is really an adventure and good fun, you will not forget it for the rest of your life.
